3D Scanning

About 3D Scanning

The team at Warren Orthodontics combines years of training and skills with cutting-edge orthodontic technology to develop your personalized treatment plan. In addition to your smile, we’re concerned about making sure your results last and your oral health stays in great condition while in treatment, so we need to have all the information possible about your teeth and mouth to make sure your results are excellent in every way.

THE ITERO SCANNER

At our office, we use the iTero scanner to gather digital images of your teeth and get a complete look at the issues before we come up with your treatment plan. With this scanner, the patient experiences a much less invasive process than with traditional molds (no sticky, foul-tasting mold stuck in your mouth) while ensuring that we receive the most accurate and efficient images for the best fit for your custom appliances. The iTero scanner is a small wand that is placed inside your mouth to quickly gather up to 20 full-color images per second of your teeth from every possible angle.

Additional benefits of the iTero Scanner include

  • A detailed view of the ways your teeth are crooked
  • Easy assessment of the health of oral tissues
  • Streamlined treatment for all types of braces, including Invisalign®
  • A preview of the final results of your treatment before you start!

The full process takes only about 1 minute, and your images are available in real-time, allowing for a more streamlined experience.

DIGITAL X-RAYS

Digital X-rays are another advanced diagnostic tool we use at Warren Orthodontics to provide you with the best possible care. Digital radiography has changed the way we take orthodontic X-rays by making the process faster, more comfortable, and more convenient. Digital X-rays use a digital sensor to take images of your teeth and use significantly less radiation than film X-rays. Furthermore, the results of 3D scans are instant. With digital X-rays, our team is able to identify and diagnose several types of orthodontic problems quickly and efficiently, including

  • Developmental abnormalities
  • Improper tooth root positioning
  • Cysts and abscesses
  • Tumors
  • Infection in the tooth nerves
  • Bone loss

Digital X-ray images come in handy for many reasons beyond the initial diagnosis and treatment planning phase. Throughout your treatment, these safe and detailed images can be a very effective way to track the progress of how your teeth are moving and determine if any adjustments need to be made.

The benefits of digital X-rays include

  • Improved orthodontic treatment planning
  • Lower risk of surprises during treatment
  • A complete, detailed view of your dental and facial anatomy
  • Much less radiation exposure compared to traditional X-rays
  • An efficient and elegant treatment plan

Digital X-rays and scanning ensure that our patients experience a streamlined process so that they can get started quickly on their new smiles with custom appliances that fit just right.
